Have you ever wondered how experts have become well-recognized and deemed to have valuable opinions? What about the benefits the receive from being a respected industry leader? If you think about it, you may realize that you are already an expert at something. Your job or your hobby may take a considerable amount of skill and knowledge to perform well. You might ask, “If I’m already an expert, then what makes me different from them?” The difference is in your personal branding.

To achieve an expert status, you need to become a household name at least in whatever industry you want to compete in. In order for that to happen, you need to market yourself to increase awareness. The process is similar to selling a product.

First, you will need to start blogging. Blogs give you the perfect medium to share your wealth of knowledge online. As people read your blog, they will begin to see that you know what you’re talking about and will expert more quality content from you later.

Next, you need to market yourself by spreading your blogs and using SEO optimization. This allows you to gain more followers. After getting some followers, you will need to create compelling content that shows them more of your expertise and enthusiasm for whatever you’re doing. Make sure to make quality content that is relevant and useful for your audience.

Then you can create products you can sell to your followers. They have already established that you are a trustworthy source of knowledge so if they are serious about getting into your industry, they would trust your opinions and advice. You can create ebooks, videos, audio content, etc. that you can sell as a course to those who want a deeper dive into what you have to offer.

From then on you will be consider an expert in your field and you can continue to create great content and even host events or seminars to gain even more students and reputation. And all the content you have created online for sale will become passive income for you because you just copy, paste and get paid.
